Coastal Calm In Frame Shaker Kitchen

The clients with this light filled home in exclusive Aldwick, just outside Chichester in West Sussex, wanted to reconfigure their home to incorporate two distinct areas into a large kitchen and entertaining space. Pete worked closely with the clients to understand their vision and during the concept phase came across a central point of disagreement: the island. Working with our design software and decades of experience Pete was able to show a beautiful island with space for 6 to sit, but in a completely different orientation to their initial idea. As designers, we are there to deliver the clients wishes but there are often times when a designers experience can help to guide how a space will feel, something that can be hard to visualise.

We are pleased to say that the island was vindicated. It acts as a leading line in the kitchen, connecting the hugely functional kitchen to the more serene living and entertaining space.This is now the perfect entertaining kitchen, capable of accomodating six guests in the island for breakfast, drinks and nibbles, and the seperate dining room for more formal dining.

Curved corners soften edges throughout the kitchen, showing elegance and craftmanship. A light palette of Taupe grey and thick light quartz worktops, again with curves carries light and airiness through the room.
